Team UNBREAKABLE

UNBREAKABLE. This one word simply describes what we want to achieve for youth who suffer from mental illness and depression. To give them the resources and confidence to lead meaningful and productive lives. So they can feel “unbreakable.”

CameronHelps was inspired by a young woman who described to us how she felt when she was running. In her battle against depression and mental illness, she said the energy and the empowerment she received through her run-group therapy program made her feel unbreakable. See the Unbreakable video.

Team Unbreakable is the name we are giving to our run-group therapy programs. We are using this name to brand the program because we believe it will inspire other youth. Team Unbreakable programs will work with youth to show them that physical exercise can help them cope with their underlying conditions.

In 2012, we will be renaming our annual Find a Way Father’s Day 5k run, the Team Unbreakable 5K. As well, there will be additional running events in the Team Unbreakable Running Series in communities across Ontario. As part of the Team Unbreakable Program, we also have future plans to introduce a relay challenge among high school students to raise awareness and to promote physical and mental health.
